Kauai Path Kaua'i Coastal Path

Last year's Kauai Gran Fondo route was just under 90 miles, so this year Chet & Bill plan to add a few miles by riding to Polihale Road before heading up the canyon to finish.

That should be a ride of about 100 miles for those who choose the entire route.

Start at 7:00 am Ke’e beach. Please wear a helmet, bring spare tubes/patch kit, water and nutrition. Follow Kuhio Hwy. until left turn onto the bike path (north end of Kealia).

1st Stop: Kapa’a pool. Then continue on path to Kuhio Hwy, Kapule Hwy and onto Hulemalu Road. At end of Hulemalu turn west on Kaumualii Hwy.

2nd Stop: Lawai Mini Mart/Post Office. Then continue west until left on Halewili Road (aka coffee road). At end of Halewile road turn left and continue to Polihale road. We will turn around there and meet at

3rd Stop: Kekaha Mini Mart. Start the climb up Kokee Road and continue to

Finish: Kokee Lodge/pavilion area.

The ride planners estimate that participants should have completed 100 miles when they reach the lodge/pavilion area. Then it’s time to enjoy some food (pot luck) and relax.

This is not a supported ride so please bring tubes etc. Friends of the riders should be able transport some items to the finish in Koke’e if needed. If you have any friends who can drive support vehicles or if you need a support vehicle to carry food, supplies, or change of clothes etc please contact Chet or Bill.
