The meeting will be held on Sept. 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Kapaa High School library.
The proposed design and details for discussion for the project include the following:
• Peanut-shaped roundabout;
• 5-to-8-feet-wide sidewalks;
• Pedestrian-activated flashing beacons;
• Concrete medians;
• Concrete bus pads and shelters.
Consultation will be conducted in a separate part of the meeting in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
This project is based on designs developed by the public for Safe Routes to School at a workshop conducted in 2013.
